Fiji Weather Forecast: Heavy Showers and Thunderstorms Bring Flood Risk Across Island Groups This Weekend

Weather Update

Brought to you by the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi, hot off the press at 2:27 PM on Friday, November 14, 2025!

It seems a rather mischievous trough of low pressure has decided to pay us a visit, bringing along a cloud party with showers and the possibility of some dramatic thunderstorms. So, if you have outdoor plans, you might want to pack an umbrella as if it’s a fashion accessory!

Here’s what to expect until midnight tomorrow for our fabulous Fiji group:

– Occasional showers will be bumping their way through Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva, Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua, and Cakaudrove, Taveuni and their smaller island pals. Kadavu and friends in Lau and Lomaiviti aren’t escaping the cloud cover either.

– Afternoon and evening thunderstorms are likely to crash the party with some heavy rain that could leave low-lying areas feeling a bit too waterlogged for comfort.

– Elsewhere, it’s a partially cloudy affair with the chance of isolated afternoon or evening showers and a sprinkle of thunderstorms.

– Expect moderate winds coming from the south to northwest, but don’t be surprised if they start flirting with a southeast direction later tonight. And those seas? Moderate, just like your effort at keeping your plants hydrated in the dry season.

Now, let’s sneak a peek into Sunday’s forecast: Think occasional rain with the kind of heavy downpours that will make you wonder if you should’ve packed your water wings. Yes, thunderstorms will also make a cameo appearance in many areas!

For our specific towns, here’s the weather scoop:
– **Navua / Suva / Nausori**: Expect occasional showers and some thunderstorm drama. Min: 24, Max: 29.
– **Sigatoka/Coral Coast**: A bit of cloud and some possible thunderstorm action. Bring your raincoat! Min: 21, Max: 30.
– **Nadi / Lautoka / Ba**: Resuming the cloud party theme with isolated showers and possible thunderstorms. Min: 22, Max: 32.
– **Tavua/Rakiraki**: Continuing with shower shenanigans in the afternoons. Min: 23, Max: 31.
– **Natadradave/Korovou**: Frequent showers with relatable thunderstorms expected. Min: 22, Max: 29.
– **Yasawa/Mamanuca group**: A sunny persona with a chance of a thunderstorm cameo. Min: 23, Max: 33.
– **Labasa**: Isolated showers are on the guest list today! Min: 22, Max: 31.
– **Savusavu**: Occasional showers might keep you inside, but thunderstorms will add some flavor! Min: 23, Max: 30.
– **Nabouwalu, Taveuni, Lau, Lomaiviti group, Kadavu**: You guessed it—occasional showers and thunderstorms galore (heavy at times)! Min: 21-23, Max: 28-30.

And for **Rotuma**, while the rest of us are drenching, you’ll enjoy a pretty fine day with a side of brief showers. Min: 26, Max: 32.

So gather your umbrellas, prepare for some drama, and don’t forget: if the rain is heavy, it might just be the weather’s way of telling you to enjoy a cozy evening indoors!
