Greetings, weather enthusiasts! Here’s your whimsical weather forecast for Fiji, straight from the National Weather Forecasting Centre, issued at the crack of dawn on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. Just think of it as your daily dose of sunshine served with a side of scattered showers.
Today’s forecast shows a lovely day ahead, perfect for lounging around or pretending to be productive. Expect it to be mostly fine, with just a sprinkle of brief showers lurking about southern Viti Levu—think of them as nature’s confetti in Nadroga/Navosa, Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, and some other places with long names. Southern Bua, Cakaudrove provinces, as well as Lau, Lomaiviti, Kadavu, and the tiny islands nearby might also catch a shower or two.
If you’re in the mood for a little excitement, keep an eye out for afternoon thunderstorms over the eastern half of Viti Levu and eastern Vanua Levu. They’re like the weather’s way of throwing a surprise party!
We have moderate winds coming from the south to southwest, so when you’re out battling the breeze, just know it’s not a bad idea to hold on to your hats and your sanity. The seas are also moderate, so if you’re planning on a little ocean escapade, make sure your floaties are ready!
Now, looking ahead to Wednesday, it seems like the weather is deciding to wear its cloudy hat. You’ll see cloudy periods with brief showers over places like Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, and several other regions that sound a bit like a geography test. But don’t worry, for most places, including Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba, it should remain fine—with just the occasional shower poking its head in to say hello.
For the Coral Coast, fine weather is on the menu, but expect some afternoon thunderstorms—because who doesn’t love a little drama in their day?
In Savusavu, expect blissful moments with brief showers sprinkled in. The same goes for Labasa, which may also encounter a few cheeky thunderstorms.
As for our friends on Rotuma, a weak low-pressure system has decided to make itself cozy just north of you, bringing with it occasional showers and a few unexpected thunderstorms, which might feel like a guest who overstays their welcome.
