Weather Update
Brought to you by the fine folks at the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi, bright and early at 5:30 AM on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
Brace yourselves, Fiji! We’ve got a mix of clouds and showers brewing, with some areas being quite generous with those rainfalls—think Nadi-Lautoka-Ba, Tavua-Rakiraki, and Suva-Nausori, just to name a few. It’s like Mother Nature decided to throw a party, but some provinces are definitely getting more cake than others.
If you’re anywhere else, it’s a little less like a water park today, with just a few little showers expected in the afternoon or evening. But watch out! Those afternoon thunderstorms might just crash the party and invite flash floods to low-lying areas. If you see dark clouds, it might be wise to grab your umbrella and put on your rain boots!
We’re expecting moderate to fresh northeast winds blowing in like they have somewhere important to be, along with some moderate to rough seas. So, if you’re thinking of taking a dip in the ocean, be sure to check with the local lifeguard first—safety first!
Looking to Friday? Well, it looks like Cloud City will still be hanging around, especially over Navua-Suva-Nausori and other regions. Be ready for the possibility of some rain. You might want to get cozy indoors with a good book—it’s that kind of weather!
