Weather Update
Good morning, weather enthusiasts! Here’s the scoop on today’s forecast for our beloved Fiji, hot off the press from the National Weather Forecasting Centre. Grab your umbrellas, because it looks like the sky might just throw a surprise party for us!
For today across the Fiji group, it’s looking like a day shrouded in clouds with some cheeky showers making cameo appearances. Be on the lookout for heavier rain in Nadi-Lautoka-Ba, Tavua-Rakiraki, Suva-Nausori, Tailevu North, Naitasiri-Ra, and the lovely provinces of eastern Macuata and Cakaudrove, plus the Yasawa, Mamanuca, Lau, and Lomaiviti groups. It’s a bit of a rainy reunion, folks!
Beyond the rain-soaked areas, you’ll find fine weather generally, aside from a few sneaky afternoon or evening showers; they are known to happen when you least expect it! If you’re out and about, keep an eye on those budding thunderstorms – they might just want to bring along some heavy rain, which could result in a flash flood of fun in low-lying areas. Talk about a wet and wild time!
Don’t forget to hold on to your hats as moderate to fresh northeast winds will be swinging by, causing moderate to rough seas. So, if you had plans for a leisurely day at the beach, perhaps postpone that beach ball game just a tad.
Looking ahead to Friday, expectations are set for continued cloudy periods with some showers over Navua-Suva-Nausori, Serua-Namosi, Tailevu North-Naitasiri-Ra, eastern Macuata, Cakaudrove, and our vibrant friends in southern Bua provinces, Kadavu, and the nearby smaller islands, as well as Lau and Lomaiviti. Fine weather? Yes please! But keep those raincoats handy because isolated afternoon or evening thunderstorms might just crash the party again with some heavy showers.
Here’s a quick breakdown so you can plan your day:
For the buzzing Navua/Suva/Nausori area: Expect those isolation-prone afternoon or evening showers along with thunderstorms. Temperature will be a cozy Min: 24°C to Max: 31°C.
Natadradave/Korovou has similar vibes with cloudy periods and chances of those electric afternoon thunderstorms. Same Min and Max as above!
In Sigatoka/Coral Coast, prepare for mostly fine weather, but don’t get comfortable — occasional showers and thunderstorms are on the horizon. Temperature remains a comfy Min: 24°C and a Mojito-like Max: 31°C.
And if you’re in Nadi/Lautoka/Ba, brace yourself for cloudy moments with some showers. Heavy falls and thunderstorms are hoping for a headline in today’s forecast. Get ready for a Min: 24°C and a sizzling Max: 33°C.
For Tavua/Rakiraki, pack your umbrella for those moods of clouds and showers — they’ll be hanging out with isolated heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. Again, a Min: 24°C and Max: 33°C are expected—lovely!
For the Yasawa/Mamanuca islands, the weather is feeling a tad coy, so expect cloudy periods and some showers, all while maintaining a Min: 24°C and Max: 31°C.
Labasa, Savusavu, and Nabouwalu, you’ll be joining the cloudy fun with showers and a chance of heavy midline thunderstorms. Temperatures in the classic range — Min: 24°C, Max: 33°C.
Taveuni and the Lau and Lomaiviti groups are also invited to the cloudy buffet with showers likely. Min: 24°C and Max: 31°C, yet again.
Lastly, dear Kadavu and Rotuma, you’re in luck with mostly fine weather (with some possible showers and thunderstorms!), in the same cozy Min: 24°C and maxing out at 31°C and 30°C respectively.
Stay safe, fabulous Fiji, and enjoy the weather — whatever it may bring!
