Greetings, weather enthusiasts! Today we have a weak trough of low pressure hanging over the eastern parts of the country, much like your cousin who overstays their welcome. Meanwhile, a moist northeasterly wind is flowing through the islands, bringing that hint of tropical charm mixed with a splash of unpredictability.

Forecast until midnight tomorrow for the fabulous Fiji group: Expect cloudy periods accompanied by some showers in places like Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and their nearby friends—the Lau and Lomaiviti groups, as well as Kadavu and its honourary small islands. The rest of us can anticipate fine weather, though don’t get too comfortable as afternoon or evening showers may decide to crash the party. Thunderstorms with heavy downpours are also planning an encore performance over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. So bring your umbrella…and possibly a life vest!

Winds will be moderate northeasterlies, and sea conditions are moderately calm, perfect for fishing—unless the fish are too smart to bite in this weather.

Looking ahead to Thursday: The cloudy theme continues with more showers predicted for Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, plus our lovely Lau and Lomaiviti groups, along with Kadavu and friends. More similar shenanigans for the rest of the group, with all places being fine except for afternoon or evening showers. Thunderstorm fans, you’re in luck! More of those are rolling through over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu too.
