Weather Update
Greetings from your friendly National Weather Forecasting Centre here in Nadi, where we’ve just brewed up the latest weather shenanigans. As of 10:45 AM on Thursday, November 6, 2025, we find ourselves under the wily influence of a weak trough of pressure that’s decided to hang out a bit too long—bringing its crowd of clouds and showers, particularly in the eastern parts of the country.
So, what’s the forecast for the Fiji group until the midnight owl hoots? Expect a delightful mix of cloudy periods with some sprinkles over Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, and Taveuni, plus the smaller islands around. Lau and Lomaiviti groups, and Kadavu also get in on the rain dance. Elsewhere? Sunshine may be attempting a comeback, but it might play hard to get with some isolated afternoon or evening showers. Ominous afternoon thunderstorms might jazz things up over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, so keep an eye out for those!
Winds will start off moderate and northwesterly, switching gears to easterly later tonight, as if they’ve decided to do a little cha-cha. The seas will also be moderate, so no need to panic unless you’re a buoy wishing for a less bumpy ride!
Outlook for Saturday is making its own weather headlines, with occasional rain and thrilling thunderstorms expected over the Northern Division, Lau and Lomaiviti, and the aforementioned suspects like Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Kadavu, and their smaller friends. Don’t be surprised if we see some localized heavy falls that could lead to flash floods in those low-lying areas—so, rain boots on standby, folks!
Now let’s break it down by the regions:
For Navua / Suva / Nausori: Expect some cloudy periods and showers sniffing around. Today’s high of 29 degrees is like a warm hug. Tomorrow? You’ll start with a cozy low of 23 and a similarly snuggly high of 29 to greet you. Saturday promises occasional rain and a few thunderstorms with a cheeky high of 28.
Sigatoka / Coral Coast is daintily playing its cards with fine weather, aside from some isolation seeking afternoon or evening showers. Today’s high of 30 degrees is quite the catch, with tomorrow bringing a snug low of 22 and a plush high of 30 degrees. Saturday is looking just as dapper, apart from the usual end-of-day showers and thunderstorms.
Nadi / Lautoka / Ba have sunshine flaunting it, except for a few shy isolated showers trying to steal the limelight. Today’s high will be 31, tomorrow starting with a low of 22 and a repeat performance of 31. Saturday will follow the same script, adding only afternoon or evening thrills.
For Tavua / Rakiraki: More fine weather with a touch of isolated showers in the afternoons/evenings. Today reaches a blissful 31 degrees and tomorrow dips to 23 for the low, then back up to 31 again for the high. Saturday comes cozily with a familiar forecast.
Natadradave / Korovou: A mix of clouds and showers today with a high of 29. Tomorrow’s forecast lowers the temperature to a snuggly 23. As for Saturday, well, we can expect a passing shower or thunderous company with a high of 28.
The Yasawa/Mamanuca group will bask in sunny weather – minus the occasional afternoon shower. Today they’ll peak at 31 and tomorrow will feature a cuddly 30 with a low of 24. Saturday continues the blissful trend but don’t forget to keep umbrella handy for those brief showers.
Labasa, Savusavu, and Nabouwalu: Expect a similar routine with highs of 31 (or 29 if you’re Savusavu). Tomorrow tapers down to peaceful lows around 23 inclusive of rain and thunder on Saturday.
Taveuni, Lau and Lomaiviti group, and Kadavu are in for a shower-fest. Highs in the 28-29 zone along with occasional showers are leading the way to Saturday’s wet wandering.
And finally, for our friends over Rotuma, moderate easterly winds invite those clouds for a little party with brief showers. Today’s high joins the club at 31, with a low of 25 to nap through the night. Saturday continues this cloudy theme, with a sprinkle of showers thrown in.
So put on your best raincoat or slip on your favorite flip-flops and embrace whatever the skies fling at you!
