Attention, folks! It seems our atmosphere is throwing a little shindig with a moist easterly wind flowing through the country like a refreshing fruit punch. But hold on to your hats because a trough of low pressure is trying to join the party from the north, bringing along some clouds and showers, especially for our northern and eastern pals in Fiji come Monday.

Forecast until midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:
Expect some cloudy periods with brief showers – think of it as nature’s way of giving us a refreshing sprinkle! This will particularly moisten the interiors and eastern areas of Macuata, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, the eastern bits of Taveuni, and their smaller island friends. Also on the hit list are the interior and eastern parts of Viti Levu (that’s right, from Serua-Namosi to the breathtaking Navua, Suva, and Nausori, all the way up to Tailevu North), Kadavu and its tiny island entourage, plus the Lau and Lomaiviti groups.

Everywhere else? We’re keeping it mellow with some clouds and the occasional afternoon or evening showers. Who knows, isolated thunderstorms might just crash the party too! The winds will be moderate, like a good friend at a gathering, and while the seas are moderate, they might get a little fresh now and then.

Now, looking ahead to Monday: expect those cloudy periods to become a mini storm, with isolated heavy showers and thunderstorms shaking things up about the interiors and eastern parts of Viti Levu (that’s Sigatoka-Korolevu to Naitasiri, through Nabua-Suva, heading all the way to Tailevu North), Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, and yes, Taveuni and its smaller sidekicks are not off the hook. The rest of the islands will also see partly cloudy weather, with a chance of afternoon showers and maybe a thunderstorm or two.

And be warned – those heavy showers could lead to flash flooding in low-lying areas, so keep your floaties handy!
