Fiji Weather Forecast: Cloudy With Showers and Isolated Thunderstorms Across Islands and Rotuma, With Potential Heavy Falls and Flash Flooding Saturday

Weather Update

Good morning, weather enthusiasts! It’s Friday, October 24th, 2025, and we’re serving up a forecast that’s a little cloudy but full of character, similar to a cozy sweater that has seen better days!

Right now, a rather lazy trough is making its way towards us from the west but don’t worry—it’s expected to take a detour to the southwest of Fiji and leave us with just the right amount of moisture for that tropical charm. As an added bonus, those delightful easterly winds are breezing through, giving you just the right reason to let your hair down or perhaps just a bit tousled.

So, here’s what’s cooking in the weather pot for today across the glorious Fiji group:
– Expect some cloudy periods with brief showers, particularly over the interior and eastern parts of Macuata, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, and keeping Taveuni and its merry companions in splashes of moisture.
– Viti Levu isn’t getting left out either with the eastern side from Serua-Namosi to the sunny treats of Navua, Suva, Nausori, and all the way to Tailevu North, joining in on the soggy fun.
– And we can’t forget our friends in Kadavu, Lau, and the charming Lomaiviti group—all set for some sky spatters today!

If you find yourself elsewhere today, you might just spot a few afternoon or evening showers trying to play peekaboo with you. Those moderate but occasionally feisty easterly winds will give you the occasional nudge, and let’s not forget about those moderate to rough seas. So, do keep your sea legs handy!

Now peeking ahead to Saturday, it looks like the clouds have decided they want to party a bit harder. We’re anticipating some more showers and potentially a couple of heavy downpours—cue the dramatic lighting and thunder. Locations like the interior and eastern parts of Viti Levu—especially from Sigatoka-Korolevu to our dear friends in Naitasiri—are in for a little extra splash.

Here’s the localized forecast—a mixed bag of cloudiness and potential shower fun:
– For Navua, Suva, and Nausori: Cloudy and brief showers, with temps ranging from 22 to 28 degrees.
– For Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba: Isolated afternoon showers around 31 degrees, because why not enjoy the heat?
– Over in Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Expect similar isolated showers, juggling between 22 and 30 degrees.
– Tavua/Rakiraki: You’ll have brief showers dancing around too, with temps peeking at 31 degrees.

The rest of Fiji—from Yasawa, Labasa, to Taveuni—can expect a similarly cloudy affair, with varying degrees of brief showers nudging their way into your plans.

And for our distant buddy, Rotuma, the weather seems to be a little moody with showers and possibly a few thunderstorms visiting—a perfect backdrop for a tropical movie night!

Let’s brace ourselves for some moisture, keep our umbrellas handy, and maybe even consider it an opportunity for some good old-fashioned puddle jumping! Stay safe, and enjoy the day!
