Weather Alert!
Greetings from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi! It’s 3:30 PM on July 1, 2025, and here’s the scoop on what Mother Nature has in store for the Fiji group until midnight tomorrow.
Get ready for a dramatic entrance of cloudiness, complete with a sprinkle of showers in the following provinces: Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Kadavu and their tiny island pals, as well as Taveuni, Lau, and the Lomaiviti groups. For those of you in the rest of Fiji, it’s mainly fine—isn’t it great to be in the privileged crowd? In the evenings, expect a slight chill, perfect for snuggling up with a warm drink.
Also, watch out for moderate to fresh east to southeast winds! And for our lads and lasses who fancy a bit of a wave ride, the seas may be moderate to rough, so hold onto your hats (or at least your swimsuits)!
Now, looking ahead to Thursday, prepare for stronger southeast winds blowing up to a hearty 45 km/hr in Lau and Lomaiviti, Kadavu, Taveuni, Yasawa, and even coastal Rakiraki. Definitely not ideal for your picnic plans! But don’t worry, elsewhere you’ll find moderate and possibly gusty winds that will keep the fresh air flowing!
For our specific locales:
– **Navua / Suva / Nausori:** Cloudy periods and some showers are on the agenda. Cool nights, so bring out the cozy blankets.
– **Nadi / Lautoka / Ba:** Fine and dandy with cool nights. Perfect for outdoor adventures—just don’t forget your sweater for the evening!
– **Coral Coast/Sigatoka:** A bit of cloud and those sneaky showers are lurking. And again, probably cool nights—bring on the hot chocolate!
– **Tavua/Rakiraki:** Rakiraki might get a bit moody with some showers, while Tavua stays mostly blissful. Both offer cool nights for your star-gazing pleasure!
– **Natadradave/Korovou:** A chance of showers with those cool evenings making it feel like movie night is on the horizon!
– **Yasawa/Mamanuca Group:** Clear skies for most but don’t forget, the nights are still cool—perfect for romantic walks!
– **Labasa:** Fine weather with cool nights, so feel free to enjoy the local beach!
– **Savusavu:** Cloudy moments mixed with showers that might spoil a day out, but do enjoy that cool night air!
– **Lau and Lomaiviti Group:** More clouds and showers—where are those sun gods when you need them, right?
– **Kadavu:** Showers are making a guest appearance; cool nights mean you can enjoy a good book indoors!
– **Rotuma:** Hold onto your hats, folks! A strong wind warning is still waving at us! Expect winds and rough seas with a side of isolated thunderstorms—better stay inside with your popcorn!
