Weather Update from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi

Issued at 3:30 PM on Friday, July 4, 2025

Let’s dive into today’s weather adventure, shall we? Here in Fiji, we’re currently under the embrace of an easterly wind flow—a gentle reminder that yes, there is indeed a breeze that likes to give us a soft nudge.

As we tiptoe towards midnight, expect some cloudy visitors stopping by for a brief shower party in places like Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Kadavu, Taveuni and a couple of charming nearby islands, as well as the Lau and Lomaiviti groups. Meanwhile, the rest of the crew will be basking in a mainly fine atmosphere. So, if you’re going beach-hopping, make sure to check out the “mainly fine” spots!

The breeze is looking fresh at moderate intensity, so hold onto your sun hats; it might just help your hair do some interesting styles. The seas are making waves too, with moderate to rough conditions, reminding us it’s not the best day for a boat ballet. And, just in case you forgot, expect some cool nights. Perfect for snuggling up with a warm drink!

Now, looking ahead to Sunday, the clouds will re-introduce themselves, bringing brief showers back to the same spots as before. Why? Because they just can’t seem to get enough of those regions! However, everywhere else will mostly remain sunny—so it’s kind of like two different weather personalities battling it out!

If you’re in Navua, Suva, or Nausori, get ready for those cloudy periods with fleeting showers. Cool nights, too—so if you accidentally forgot your jacket, now would be a good time to think about the consequences.

For our friends in Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba, count yourselves lucky! The forecast looks mainly fine, giving you plenty of reasons to enjoy the outdoors. But remember, cool nights ahead mean cozying up is mandatory!

On the stunning Coral Coast and Sigatoka, anticipate some clouds and brief showers with places elsewhere enjoying the sun. Cool nights are back in style, so don’t go showing up at the beach bonfire in shorts and a T-shirt!

Tavua and Rakiraki will see a brief shower remake of the same cloudy classic. Stay on the lookout for the same weather sequel on Sunday!

In Natadradave and Korovou, it’s a repeat performance of cloudy periods and brief showers, along with cool nights that could inspire expensive blanket investments.

For the Yasawa and Mamanuca group, you get to ride the “mainly fine” wave with cool nights!

Labasa and Savusavu will have clouds and showers making guest appearances until Sunday, when their super dramatic clouds will still linger around—flashy but fleeting.

Let’s not forget Kadavu— more clouds, brief showers, and cool nights ahead. So if you enjoy getting rained on intermittently, this is your paradise!

As for Rotuma, hold onto your hats, folks! A STRONG WIND WARNING is in place over its waters, and the Easterly winds are packing 20-25 knots, plus some rough seas. Getting out there might require a battle-ready spirit!

In summary, cloudy periods and brief showers seem to love Fiji so much they just can’t leave us! But cooler nights might inspire some indoor movie marathons—so grab your popcorn!
