Weather Update from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi

Issued on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 7:30 PM

Alright folks, grab your umbrellas and your cozy sweaters because the weather gods are feeling a bit moody. The Fiji group is in for some cloudy periods sprinkled with brief showers that seem to be on a sightseeing tour of Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Kadavu, and a few smaller islands. Taveuni and its tiny friends, as well as Lau and Lomaiviti groups, are not escaping the drizzly embrace either.

But don’t worry, it’s not all doom and gloom! Elsewhere, the sun’s making an appearance, flaunting its rays like it owns the place. Expect cool nights, perfect for a little stargazing—or just being really cozy on your couch with snacks.

Now, let’s talk about the wind—it’s coming in like a well-timed entrance at a party, moderately fresh from the southeast, just enough to ruffle your hair a bit. Seas are moderate to rough, which basically means it’s not ideal for a leisurely paddle over the waves.

For your Saturday plans, anticipate more of the same—all those aforementioned areas are likely to still be dealing with their showers while the rest of us bask in sunlit glory. Cool nights will ensure that our dreams are less about sweaty tropical beaches and more about snuggly throws and warm drinks.

To break it down further:

Navua / Suva / Nausori: Expect cloudy skies with brief showers, and do remember to take a light jacket for the cool nights.

Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: Mainly fine weather here; it’s prime time for those who don’t want to be caught in rain!

Coral Coast/Sigatoka: Cloudiness and brief showers will try to crash the party over the coast, but fine weather will roll in elsewhere.

Tavua/Rakiraki: Dry and cool nights are staying on the scene, so enjoy those clear skies.

Natadradave/Korovou: These folks are also in for cloudy periods and brief showers, along with the cool night vibes.

Yasawa/Mamanuca group: Mainly fine here! The sun loves you, and it shows. Plus, those cool nights await.

Labasa: Same tune here—mostly clear skies with cool nights.

Savusavu: A bit of cloudiness and showers here, too, but it will be cool at night so no need for sweatpants!

Now, if you’re at Rotuma, you’ll want to buckle up—there’s a strong wind warning in effect. A trough of low pressure just north of you means southeast winds are hustling at 20-25 knots, with rough seas looking a tad aggressive. Just stay safe out there!

So, in short, whether clouds be your friends or foes, the cool nights are here to remind us that we’re in the tropics. Enjoy the weather, or, at the very least, enjoy the stories you’ll tell about it!
