Fiji Weather Forecast: Cloudy Skies and Showers Expected with Isolated Thunderstorms and Flash Flood Risks

Weather Update Alert!
Issued by the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi
at the bright and early hour of 5:30am on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.

What’s brewing in the Fiji group today? Well, if you’re in Suva, Nausori, Navua, Naitasiri, Tailevu, or anywhere in the cozy interior of Viti Levu, grab your umbrella! We’ve got a good dose of cloudiness accompanied by some cheerful showers. It’s like Mother Nature decided to fluff up the clouds for a cozy day in.

Meanwhile, Rakiraki, Kadavu, the little islands nearby, Cakaudrove, southern Bua, and the Lau and Lomaiviti groups can expect the same fluffy treatment. Don’t fret if you’re elsewhere; the weather gods have decided it can be fine, with just a sprinkle of afternoon or evening showers to keep things interesting.

Heads up for those in Viti Levu and Vanua Levu: isolated thunderstorms might just crash your outdoor plans with heavy downpours certain to keep everyone guessing, “Is that thunder or is my stomach growling?” Be on the lookout as local flooding may occur in low-lying areas, so maybe keep those floaties handy just in case!

Expect moderate easterly winds trying their best not to ruffle anyone’s feathers and moderate seas that might be ideal for a little paddle (if you can dodge the rain).

Tomorrow’s forecast looks like more cloud-filled mischief! A sprinkle of showers will grace the interior and coastal zones of Serua-Namosi, Navua, Suva, Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Lau, and Lomaiviti groups, with Kadavu and nearby islands joining the cloud party too. The rest of you can keep it fine, apart from those attention-seeking afternoon or evening showers hoping to make an appearance.

Plan your adventures carefully, as isolated thunderstorms may make themselves known. Winds will be a bit more boisterous, and seas? Well, they might be moderate to rough, so bring your sea legs!
