Weather Update from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi at 7:30 PM, Tuesday, September 23, 2025

Hold on to your hats, folks; a dashing east to southeast wind is making its way across the group like a brisk tango!

Here’s what Mother Nature has in store for the Fiji group:

For those in Navua-Suva-Nausori, Namosi-Serua, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua and Cakaudrove provinces, Kadavu, and nearby islands, and the Lau and Lomaiviti groups, expect cloudy periods with a few surprise showers. It’s like nature’s way of keeping you on your toes!

Elsewhere across the region promises to be mainly fine with the kind of night cool enough to make you curl up with a blanket and a good book. Our mischievous winds will be moderate to fresh and coming straight from the east to southeast. Seas will be moderate to rough—perfect for a little windsurfing if you’re feeling adventurous or opting for a calmer stroll down the beach.

Looking ahead to Thursday, we’re still seeing those fun cloudy intervals with some additional showers for the same areas as before. Elsewhere, keep sunglasses handy but maybe pop an umbrella in the bag for isolated surprise showers in the afternoon or evening.

Specifically for our beloved towns and regions:

In Navua, Suva, and Nausori: Now there’s a bit of cloud and brief showers thrown into the mix. Perfect cuddle weather, right? Temperatures play it cool with lows at 19°C and highs at 28°C. The outlook for Thursday remains a similar picturesque cloudy blend with a hint of showers.

In the drier side of things at Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba, it’s mainly fine and dry with a snug night chill. Expect a touch of warmth, with temperatures between 18°C and 29°C. Thursday sees a side splash of potential isolated showers sneaking in for an afternoon surprise.

Sigatoka and Coral Coast: Embrace the fine weather with temperatures nudging from 19°C to a delightful 29°C, while Thursday may surprise you with a few afternoon or evening sprinkles.

Tavua/Rakiraki: Fine throughout with lows at 20°C and highs reaching around 29°C. Thursday whispers of possible isolated showers just to keep everyone guessing.

For our friends in Natadradave and Korovou, it’s cloudy with a splash of showers to keep things lively, while remaining comfortably cool at night.

Over in the dazzling Yasawa and Mamanuca group, the forecast calls for mainly fair skies with a pleasant chill settling in after dusk. Look out for any cheeky afternoon showers come Thursday.

Over in Labasa, expect mainly fine weather to make you smile, with temperatures being the warmest in the group at 31°C.

In the charming Savusavu, expect some clouds and brief showers to spice things up. More showery goodness on Thursday with cooling at night.

Rotuma: Hold onto your hats—there’s a strong wind advisory in force! Expect energetic winds with speeds up to 45 km/h. Thursday invites some thunderous company along with those cloudy periods and showers, but fret not, for those gusty winds will gradually simmer down over the land.

Stay fabulous, Fiji! Enjoy the laughable and lovable surprises that the weather holds.
