Fiji Weather Forecast: Cloudy Periods with Showers and Thunderstorms Across the Islands; Rotuma Under Strong Wind Warning

Weather Update
Greetings from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi! It’s 3:30 PM on Tuesday, October 28th, 2025, and we have some weather shenanigans to share. Brace yourselves, a moist easterly wind is sweeping through the country—invite your umbrellas to the party!

Here’s the scoop for the Fiji group until midnight tomorrow:
Prepare for some cloudy intermissions with a few brief showers swooping in over the interior and eastern sections of Macuata, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove (including Taveuni and its little island buddies), as well as the interior and eastern corners of Viti Levu, from Serua-Namosi all the way to Tailevu North, plus the Lau and Lomaiviti groups. Elsewhere, expect sunshine—thankfully, there’s a difference—interspersed with showers storming in for an afternoon encore and the possibility of some thunderous applause (the kind you don’t want to miss!). Winds will be moderately fresh, which means no sails up, and seas could get a tad rough – think of it as a natural rollercoaster!

Now, let’s cast our eyes forward to Thursday:
More clouds to cuddle with and a few showers in the mix, particularly greeting those along the interior and eastern sectors of Viti Levu, including Suva, Nausori, and going up to Rakiraki. You guessed it, there’s also a chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms crashing the party as well. Winds remain your trusty moderate to fresh easterly companions.

In specific locations:
For Navua/Suva/Nausori: Expect a cozy cloudy atmosphere with brief showers, and maybe a surprise firework show in the form of heavy falls and thunder! Max today: 30 degrees, tomorrow: a delightful 23 min and 30 max.

For Nadi/Lautoka/Ba: You’re looking at fine weather—at least until those pesky afternoon or evening showers try to steal the spotlight. Max today: 33 degrees and tomorrow: a comfy 24 min and 33 max.

Sigatoka/Coral Coast is set for a fine day with just a sprinkle of afternoon or evening showers possible. Today’s max is 31—don’t forget the sunscreen!

Tavua/Rakiraki: Similar vibes—fine weather with an occasional shower lurking. Today’s max is 33.

Over in Natadradave/Korovou: Get ready for cloudy interludes and brief showers with a chance of afternoon thunderous fun. Max today: 32.

For the Yasawa/Mamanuca group: It’s mostly fine apart from those friendly afternoon or evening showers. Max today: 31.

Labasa is basking in fine weather too, but those afternoon heavy showers might overshadow your picnic plans. Today’s max: 33.

Savusavu will be cloudy with a few brief showers, and you guessed it—thunderstorms could shake things up later. Max today: 32.

The stormy sisters, Lau and Lomaiviti, are preparing for a bit of cloud and rain as well. Max today: 31.

And let’s not forget Kadavu: the sun’s shining bright apart from a few showers—perfect weather for beach lounging. Max today: 32.

Last but not least, Rotuma: The wind is hosting quite the gathering! A STRONG WIND WARNING is in full swing, with easterly winds whipping up to 25 knots! A chance for brief showers as well, but overall, expect a max of 32 degrees today.

So there you have it, folks! Keep your umbrellas on standby, your sunglasses close, and get ready for whatever surprises Mother Nature tosses your way. Stay dry or find your dance partner for those thunderstorms!
