Weather Update

Ahoy there, weather adventurers! It’s a cloudy morning on Sunday, December 28th, 2025, brought to you straight from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi. A rather shy trough of low pressure has decided to hang out in the eastern parts of our lovely islands. So, if you’re in that neck of the woods, you might want to pack your umbrella and a good book for the shower breaks.

What to expect for the day? Well, it looks like the forecast is offering a mix of clouds, some friendly showers, and the occasional unexpected flash of lightning — because who doesn’t like a bit of drama in the sky? Places like Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, and other eastern hotspots will likely see some isolated thunderstorms. Just don’t go naming any storms; they might get offended.

For the rest of the group, it will be drier and sunnier apart from those sneaky afternoon and evening showers. Moderate to fresh east to northeast winds will be blowing through, which could turn gusty if you happen to be standing under an umbrella — talk about an unexpected workout!

If you’re headed out on the seas, prepare for some moderate to rough conditions. So, save those smooth sailing plans for another day, or pack your flotation devices!

Let’s dive into Monday’s crystal ball: expect more of the same with occasional showers and a few thunderous surprises in areas like Navua-Suva and surrounding regions. Remember, localized heavy falls could lead to mini water features developing in low-lying areas.

Now, let’s break it down by location:

– For Navua/Suva/Nausori, the clouds are ready to party with showers and thunderstorms. Keep your raincoat handy – Min: 22, Max: 31.

– Natadradave/Korovou will join the cloudy club with some showers too. Don’t forget your umbrella! Min: 21, Max: 31.

– Over at Sigatoka/Coral Coast, you’ll find mostly fine weather, though those afternoon showers might crash the party later. Min: 22, Max: 32.

– Nadi/Lautoka/Ba are also looking mostly fine until the after-lunch rain starts to steal the spotlight. Min: 22, Max: 32.

– Tavua/Rakiraki may enjoy fine weather too, but don’t forget to keep your eyes on the sky—those sneaky showers love to show up uninvited. Min: 22, Max: 32.

– Yasawa/Mamanuca group will be fine most of the day, but keep an eye out for those moody afternoon showers. Min: 22, Max: 30.

– Labasa, Savusavu, Nabouwalu, and Taveuni will all be embracing the clouds with more showers and thunderstorms. Stay cozy inside with a good cup of tea and watch the lightning dance. Min: 22, Max: 32 for Labasa; Min: 22, Max: 31 for Savusavu; Min: 22, Max: 31 for Nabouwalu; Min: 22, Max: 31 for Taveuni.

– Lau and Lomaiviti won’t escape the cloudy charm, either. Expect a few showers. Min: 22, Max: 31.

– Kadavu might also experience some cloudy periods but will also be closing in on the shower front. Min: 22, Max: 31.

– And over on Rotuma, they’ll be enjoying mild weather with just a trace of showers, thanks to the gentle easterly winds. Min: 25, Max: 30.

So, my fellow weatherwatchers, it looks like we have a mixed bag of cloudy delights ahead! Stay safe, stay dry, and remember, if the sky starts flashing, it’s not a superhero—it’s just a thunderstorm!
