Weather Alert: Comedy Edition
Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 7:30 PM on Friday, February 20, 2026.
Get ready for another spectacular day of atmospheric drama across the glorious Fiji group! Here’s what we can expect till midnight tomorrow:
Prepare your umbrellas, folks, because we’ll be having a moody affair with the skies. Expect cloudy spells accompanied by showers trying their best to surprise us over Kadavu, Lau, and Lomaiviti — they love making dramatic entrances!
Meanwhile, the Coral Coast-Korolevu, Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni and a few of our lesser-known island buddies will mostly be in the ‘brief shower’ zone. Think of them like a shy celebrity—stopping by for a quick peek before vanishing again!
For those of you on Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, keep your eyes peeled for the afternoon or evening thunderstorm trying out for the role of ‘Mighty Rain God’—or at least, a good rain scene in a movie.
The winds will be moderate and coming from a south-easterly direction, so it’s like the weather’s giving us a gentle nudge, reminding us to stay breezy. The seas? Well, they’re doing just fine, maintaining a moderate temperament.
Now, what’s in store for Sunday? More clouds, brief showers, and that dramatic thunderstorm audition over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. So, no major changes—just enough excitement to keep us on our toes (or perhaps in our rain boots).
For Navua, Suva, and Nausori: Expect clouds bringing occasional showers, and the afternoon will feature a thunderstorm that might just steal the show with some heavy “falls.”
Tomorrow’s forecast: Minimum of 25°C, Maximum of 32°C. Bring your sense of humor!
Natadradave/Korovou: Clouds, quick showers, and a cameo by those afternoon thunderstorms. Similar temps: Min: 25°C, Max: 32°C.
And Sigatoka/Coral Coast? Fine weather gifted with the occasional shower and storm to shake things up. Tomorrow’s classic forecast: Min: 25°C, Max: 33°C.
Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba will enjoy delightful weather with showers crashing the party later in the day. Maxing out at a warm 33°C if you’re feeling toasty after the minimum 25°C.
Tavua/Rakiraki joins the fine-weather club—with some showers hoping to break in. Mixer: Min: 25°C, Max: 33°C.
The Yasawa/Mamanuca group, keeping it classy with fine weather mixed with some surprise showers. Tomorrow? Min: 25°C, Max: 33°C.
Labasa gets the memo—fine weather with some showers and storms for flair. Min: 25°C, Max: 33°C.
For Savusavu, anticipate some clouds and those cheeky thunderstorms might sneak in. Tomorrow’s forecast: Min: 25°C, Max: 32°C.
As we hop over to Nabouwalu, keep your umbrellas ready for those clouds and thunderstorms making a comeback tomorrow: Min: 25°C, Max: 32°C.
Taveuni gets their dose of clouds and showers. A serene forecast again at Min: 25°C, Max: 32°C.
Lau and Lomaiviti? They’ll have cloudy periods with the occasional dramatic shower and thunderstorms. Keep your thermometers on standby: Min: 25°C, Max: 32°C.
And last but not least, Kadavu will see some showers and thunderstorms trying to put on a flashy display. Expect: Min: 25°C, Max: 32°C.
For our friends in Rotuma: The easterly winds are having a party, keeping the weather fine—with only brief showers trying to pop in uninvited. Forecasting a Min: 25°C, Max: 32°C for tomorrow.
Tune in for more fun weather updates, and don’t forget: whether it’s rain or shine, your Fijian adventure continues!
