Weather Update
From the National Weather Forecasting Centre, Nadi
Issued at 3:30 PM on Sunday, April 20, 2025

Hold onto your umbrellas, folks! Here’s what we’re dealing with in the magical paradise of Fiji as we venture through the evening and into Monday:

Prepare for a few cloudy spells and brief showers, particularly over Viti Levu’s southern parts (that’s you, Nadroga/Navosa, Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori), and also Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, the Lau and Lomaiviti islands, as well as Kadavu and its tiny buddies. Meanwhile, the rest of the country is likely to stay fine, just with a sprinkle or two of afternoon or evening showers thrown in for fun.

And if you happen to reside on the eastern half of Viti Levu (yes, that includes the electrifying Serua-Namosi, Navua, Suva-Nausori, Naitasiri, and Tailevu), grab a helmet because you’ve got thunderstorms on the forecast menu!

We’ve got moderate to fresh winds sweeping in from the southwest to the north, which means breezy beach vibes but don’t forget your life jackets—those seas might get a bit rowdy!

Tuesday’s Outlook:
It seems the clouds are packing their bags and moving back in for another appearance. Expect more cloudy periods with brief showers over the same southern regions and a smattering of isolated showers elsewhere.

For Navua/Suva/Nausori:
More clouds, more showers, and yes, those afternoon thunderstorms might want to join the party again.

For Sigatoka/Coral Coast:
Clouds are playing house here too, with brief showers and those sneaky afternoon thunderstorms trying to crash the Coral Coast vibe.

For Nadi/Lautoka/Ba:
Ultimate fine weather alert, but keep on alert for a sneaky isolated shower or two in the afternoons.

For Tavua/Rakiraki:
You guessed it—fine weather is the flavor of the day, with just a chance of those surprise showers.

For Natadradave/Korovou:
Fine weather, but don’t be shocked if some evening thunderstorms want to make a grand entrance.

For Yasawa/Mamanuca group:
Sunny times ahead, with just a hint of a possible afternoon shower—don’t let it rain on your parade!

For Labasa:
Fine skies with an occasional rogue shower or thunderstorm lurking somewhere in the back.

For Savusavu and Lau/Lomaiviti/Kadavu:
Clouds have been informed of their role; brief showers will be making appearances, no RSVP needed.

For Rotuma:
Looks like you’re feeling the effects of a weak trough of low pressure. Expect some clouds, a bit of shower activity, and occasionally, a thunderstorm might decide to drop by. Hold on tight to those beach towels!

And there you have it, weather adventurers! Stay prepared, stay dry, and remember, a little rain never hurt anyone—unless you’re on a picnic!
