Weather Update
Greetings, weather enthusiasts and cloud gazers!
Here’s the scoop straight from the weather wizards at the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi as of a balmy 3:30 PM on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. So, grab your umbrellas (or your sunscreen), because here comes the forecast!
Currently, we’ve got a breezy northeasterly wind flow lavishly sweeping across Fiji. But wait! A sneaky trough of low pressure is planning to crash the party from the southwest and will start making its presence felt tomorrow night. So, keep your rain dances to a minimum!
What can you expect before midnight tomorrow? Well, for most of us, it’s looking fine and dandy except for those occasional brief showers strutting their stuff over Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, eastern Macuata, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and surrounding islands. The Lau and Lomaiviti groups are also in for a sprinkle—no need to worry, Mother Nature doesn’t have a plan for a full-on deluge just yet.
But hold onto your hats because as we approach Thursday night, showers and isolated thunderstorms will be moving in faster than a local running for the last coconut pie at the market! Expect heavy falls to rock the island, especially with those skies starting to throw a tantrum from the west.
Make sure to keep your surfboards in sight as moderate northeasterly winds will shift to become northerly tomorrow. The seas are moderate, so think of it as the ocean’s way of saying, “I’m feeling chill!”
Now, looking ahead to Friday, brace yourselves for a whole lot of rain action! Occasional showers and thunderstorms are on the schedule, and some areas could see localised heavy downpours that could turn those low-lying spots into temporary swimming holes. The showers will ease over the Western Division later in the evening, but it’s a rollercoaster of wetness, folks!
