Fiji Weather Forecast: Approaching Trough Brings Heavy Showers, Thunderstorms, and Flash Flood Risk Across the Islands

Weather Update from the Friendly Forecasting Folks

Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at the crack of dawn on Thursday, 13th of November, 2025

Situation: Brace yourselves! A cheeky northeasterly wind is sashaying its way over Fiji, which means it’s time to pull out the umbrella – not that we’re complaining about a little extra excitement in our weather!

Forecast until midnight tonight for the Fiji group: It’s mostly fine for the day, but don’t say we didn’t warn you – brief showers may decide to crash the party over Navua, Suva, Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Ra, eastern Macuata, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and the cozy nearby islands, plus Lau and Lomaiviti groups.

For other areas, it’ll be fine too, unless those sneaky isolated afternoon or evening showers decide to make an appearance. Thunderstorms could pop up like surprise guests over Vanua Levu and the rugged interiors of Viti Levu, raising eyebrows and possibly a little adrenaline.

As the day rolls on, prepare for occasional showers and some heavy surprises arriving from the west. Moderately breezy northeasterly winds will usher in the fun, transforming into northerly winds by midday. The sea is feeling moderate too, just enough to keep things interesting out there.

Looking ahead to Friday: Expect a smorgasbord of occasional showers and the electrifying thrill of isolated thunderstorms, with heavy falls making an entrance over most areas. So, if those low-lying spots in your neighborhood are feeling a little soggy, don’t be surprised. Showers will start to ease over the Western Division as the day winds down.

Now, let’s break it down for various spots around this beautiful archipelago!

For Navua, Suva, Nausori: It’s fine, with a touch of brief showers. But hold onto your hats, as occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms are making their way in later today. Min: 22, Max: 29.

For Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Mostly fine except for those pesky isolated afternoon showers. Get your raincoat ready for occasional thunderstorms arriving later. Min: 21, Max: 30.

For Nadi, Lautoka, Ba: Finely fine, apart from a few rebellious afternoon showers. Enjoy the day until occasional showers and thunderstorms decide to join in later. Min: 21, Max: 31.

For Tavua/Rakiraki: Blissfully fine except for a few rogue showers in the afternoon. Occasional storms on the horizon later today, so stay sharp! Min: 23, Max: 30.

For Yasawa/Mamanuca: Radiantly fine, except for those sneaky afternoon showers. Be on storm watch later today. Min: 22, Max: 32.

For Labasa: A day of fined-up fun, with a chance of a few isolated afternoon showers. Thunderstorms expected later today, so stay alert! Min: 20, Max: 32.

For Kadavu: Mostly fine apart from brief showers. Keep your eyes peeled for some occasional thunderstorms to spice things up! Min: 21, Max: 30.

And wrapping it up for Rotuma: An easterly breeze is in control here, keeping things mainly fine, so enjoy moderate conditions on the seas and land! Tomorrow’s luck: Min: 26, Max: 31.

So there you have it, folks! Expect some romance with the rain later today, but let’s hope it doesn’t dampen the spirits. Keep that umbrella handy and let the weather keep you on your toes!
