Weather Update
Good evening, folks! Buckle up because the weather in Fiji is gearing up for a bit of a showdown. As of now, a very moist breeze is strutting its stuff across the islands, which means it’s time for us to keep our umbrellas handy and maybe even practice our rain dance – who knows, it could help!
Tonight, expect some cloudy periods with showers sneaking in. Those in the Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Eastern Macuata, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and nearby smaller islands, along with the Lau and Lomaiviti groups and Kadavu – put on your best “I love thunderstorms” face because they might just show up later!
For everyone else, it looks like fine weather will take the stage. Winds will be moderate to fresh from the east to northeast, so you might want to think twice about putting wind chimes outside tonight; they could be practicing their own version of the thunderstorm tune. Seas are moderate to rough, so let’s not take our sailing boats for a spin just yet.
Now, let’s take a peek into tomorrow. Showers will be bumping up their production, especially in those same areas as your favorite thunderstorm-enthusiasts. Just a heads-up, localized heavy falls could create flash floods – so if you live in a low-lying area, it might be wise to channel your inner fish and swim to higher ground!
Elsewhere, we might see some clouds and a couple of isolated afternoon surprises (we call them showers) along with the occasional dramatic thunderclap. Winds will keep up their fresh routine and become a touch gusty when the thunder decides to show its face.
