Weather Update
Calling all sunshine enthusiasts and downpour dodgers! Here’s the scoop from the National Weather Forecasting Centre at Nadi, hot off the meteorological press at 7:30 PM on this fine Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
The winds are embracing us from the east-northeast, which sounds exotic enough to be a cocktail, but instead, we’ve got a trough of low pressure nudging in from the east. Think of it as a big fluffy cloud blanket about to wrap around our beloved Fiji, delivering both cloud cover and a sprinkle of showers from later Wednesday and sticking around for a few days.
Here’s a glimpse at what you can expect before midnight tomorrow:
– The eastern part of Viti Levu (including Greater Suva, Nausori, Tailevu North, and the regions in between) might feel like a sleepover at a wet sponge’s house—prepare for cloudy skies, some showers, and possibly isolated thunderstorms. Pack your galoshes!
– The rest of us, don’t fret! It should be fine for most, but expect those classic afternoon showers or evening thunderstorms—because who doesn’t love a dramatic weather scene over dinner?
– Frequent showers are making their debut tomorrow, and if you’re in low-lying areas, be prepared for possible flash flooding—Mother Nature might just give you a surprise slip-and-slide.
– Winds will ranged from moderate to fresh, giving a little breeze for all your gusty hair needs.
Looking ahead to Thursday:
– Showers will be playing a game of hide and seek across the islands, with a few thunderstorms joining in for good measure. The masquerading rain could provide heavy falls especially over Vanua Levu, Taveuni, Yasawa, and Mamanuca groups–so, umbrellas at the ready!
– The seas may be moderate to rough, perfect for those daring enough to surf the waves (safely, of course!).
