Fiji Weather Bulletin: Trough of Low Pressure Brings Widespread Showers, Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain Across Fiji with Flash Flood Risk Through Sunday

Weather Update
Brought to you by the National Weather Forecasting Centre, Nadi
as of the ridiculously early hour of 5:30am on Saturday, November 15, 2025.

Alright folks, it looks like a trough of low pressure is taking center stage over the Fiji group, hanging around for a few days like an uninvited guest who just won’t take the hint. Expect a mix of clouds and showers for some adventurous areas.

Here’s what you can expect before this pesky trough finally packs up:
Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and their smaller island buddies, along with Kadavu, Lau, and Lomaiviti groups—prepare for occasional showers! And yes, you guessed it—afternoon or evening thunderstorms! So keep that umbrella handy; it might just turn into your new best friend. Just a heads up: localized heavy falls could cause flash flooding in the low-lying areas, so let’s hope you’ve got a sturdy pair of galoshes!

The forecast isn’t done teasing you; it’s also partly cloudy with isolated showers and more possible thunderstorms elsewhere in Fiji. Winds will be moderate southeasterly, while the seas will be just moderate enough for a boat ride—as long as you don’t mind a bit of choppy water!

Here’s the weather scoop for the main regions:
