Weather Watch Update
Greetings from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi, where our weather experts have received a friendly nudge from a mischievous trough of low pressure. This rascal is currently playing hide-and-seek in the northern and eastern parts of our beautiful Fiji.
Here’s what to expect through midnight tomorrow across our lovely islands:
Get ready for occasional showers—some might even come crashing down with feelings (or, should we say, heavy at times) over Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva, Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri, and dear old Ra. Meanwhile, Kadavu and its tiny buddies, along with the Northern Division, Lau, and Lomaiviti groups, will see cloudiness that’s nothing short of moody, with some showers adding to the drama. Isolated heavy falls have decided to RSVP, so don’t say we didn’t warn you!
Elsewhere, it’ll generally be fine but keep an umbrella handy in case of isolated afternoon or evening showers that might just want to crash your plans. Afternoon or evening thunderstorms are also looking to make a dramatic entrance over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu.
Expect moderate southeast winds sweeping through the area, keeping those seas moderately lively.
Now, let’s peek into Tuesday’s outlook: The festivities continue with more occasional showers over million-dollar views in Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva, Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri, and Ra. Cloudy funk will linger over Cakaudrove, Southern Bua, Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Taveuni, and Kadavu. The rest of you will generally enjoy a fine day except for those cheeky afternoon or evening showers trying to rain on your parade.
For Navua, Suva, and Nausori: Brace yourselves for the splashes! Occasional heavy showers and an afternoon thunderstorm are likely. Tomorrow’s temperatures will range from a cozy 23°C to a sweaty 29°C.
If you’re basking in the beauty of Sigatoka or the Coral Coast, expect sunshine, but those cheeky afternoon showers and thunderstorms are still on the menu. Tomorrow’s forecast calls for a min of 23°C and a max of 31°C, so slather on the sunscreen!
Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba: You’ll be living the fine life, with just a sprinkle of those afternoon showers lurking around. Look forward to a min of 23°C and max of 33°C tomorrow.
Tavua and Rakiraki: Enjoy the fine weather with just a few potential shower visitors. Tomorrow’s range is 23°C to 32°C.
For those in Yasawa and the Mamanucas: Stay fabulous, with only a few afternoon showers trying to say hello. Tomorrow promises a min of 23°C and max of 31°C.
In Labasa, prepare for clouds and potential afternoon thunderstorms. Tomorrow’s forecast is looking at a min of 23°C and max of 31°C.
Savusavu, Nabouwalu, Taveuni, Lau and Lomaiviti group, and Kadavu: Expect varying degrees of cloudiness with showers and a cheeky thunderstorm or two. Temperature ranges will be from 23°C to 29°C.
For our friends in Rotuma, the weather trend remains similar, with occasional showers and a gentle breeze. Look for tomorrow’s temperatures from a comfy 25°C to a max of 30°C.
As we wait for our weather to spice things up, keep those umbrellas ready and smiles bright, because every cloud has a silver lining (and sometimes a thunderstorm!).
