Weather Update: Brace Yourselves for a Splashy Tuesday!

Good morning, Fiji! It’s your trusty weather messenger here to keep you informed (and hopefully entertained) with today’s forecast. As of 6:47 AM, a pesky trough of low pressure is causing quite a stir for our northern and eastern buddies. But don’t worry; it’s just a low-pressure system trying to lighten the mood with some good old-fashioned cloud and showers, gradually spreading its charm across the whole country later today!

Make sure you have your umbrella handy because we’re looking at occasional rain, isolated thunderstorms, and some hefty downpours in Macuata, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and the lovely smaller islands of northern Lau. So, if you’ve been thinking about a spontaneous indoor beach party, today’s your day!

The weather’s planning a slight mischief with cloudy periods showing off their artistic flair in Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Ra-Rakiraki, and the rest of Lau, Taveuni, and surrounding islands. Expect a sprinkle here and there, with thunderstorms making a surprise cameo.

Flash flooding can sneak up on our lower-lying areas—so if you live there, keep your eyes peeled! Also, watch out for moderate to fresh northeasterly winds trying to ruffle your hair and moderate to rough seas that could make your boat ride feel like an amusement park ride.

Now, what’s on the weather menu for tomorrow? You guessed it: more rain accompanied by those sassy thunderstorms—because who wouldn’t want some drama in their life?

Here’s a peek at specific areas:
