Weather Update: Your Daily Dose of Sunshine with a Chance of Shenanigans
Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 10:45 AM on Monday, the 27th of October 2025.
Hold onto your umbrellas, folks! A lazy trough of low pressure is lounging over the country and slowly drifting eastwards, probably looking for a better beach spot. As this celestial sofa floats by, it’s bringing along its cloud buddies and a sprinkle of showers for our northern and eastern shores later tonight. Meanwhile, a moist easterly wind is giving everyone a little push, like a good friend urging you to try guacamole for the first time.
So, what’s on the weather menu until midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group? Expect a smattering of cloudiness and some friendly showers, especially in the afternoons. Now, if you’re in Macuata, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and nearby islands, or the interior and eastern parts of Viti Levu (think of the Serua-Namosi to Navua-Suva-Nausori corridor), you might have to dance around some heavy rain and the possibility of a thunderstorm trying to steal the show. Just remember to avoid those low-lying areas; we don’t want anyone’s sandals floating away!
For those who thrive in other regions, it looks like a mixed bag of cloudy periods with potential isolated afternoon or evening showers. And let’s not forget, there’s a chance of a boisterous thunderstorm crashing the family barbecue—so be ready to take cover!
The winds will be moderate and blowing easterly, while the seas keep it interesting with moderate waves.
Looking ahead to Wednesday, expect cloudy ambiances with showers in the interior and eastern parts of Viti Levu, among other places. Elsewhere, sunny patches should pop up—at least until those sneaky thunderstorms make their debut.
Here’s what to pack for the local forecast:

For the charming islands of Lau and Lomaiviti: Expect some afternoon heavy showers with a max temperature today of 28. The escapade continues with a min of 23 and a max of 30 tomorrow.
And last, but certainly not least, for Rotuma: Enjoy moderate to fresh easterly winds with brief showers. Today’s max is a warm 32, and tomorrow warms up to 32 as well.
So whether you’re enjoying a sunny day or finding shelter from the rain, remember to embrace the element of surprise! Happy weathering, everyone!
