Weather Update
Hold onto your hats, folks! The weather gods are feeling extra breezy and a bit drizzly over our beautiful Fiji. So, if you’ve got plans for outdoor fun, remember to dress for the rain and avoid flying kites in these strong winds!
A STRONG WIND WARNING is still blowing through the land areas of Macuata, Northern Bua, Cikobia and their smaller island buddies, Taveuni, Lau, and Lomaiviti. So, if you run into a stray umbrella, it may just be trying to flee the scene!
Speaking of rain, a HEAVY RAIN WARNING is as serious as a soggy sock! The entire Fiji group is getting ready for a wet and wild time, courtesy of an active low-pressure trough that’s planning to stick around. Think of it as a weather party with showers and thunderstorms crashing your day!
Forecast until midnight tomorrow:
Today – Expect occasional rain with some rogue heavy falls and isolated thunderstorms. Those low-lying areas might want to keep their life jackets handy because flash flooding could get rowdy. Meanwhile, moderate to fresh winds will make things feel lively on land and at sea.
Tomorrow – The wind will ramp up the drama! Get ready for strong northwesterly winds that could gust up to 45km/hr, especially in our windy hotspots like Lau and Lomaiviti. Rain will make a cameo too, so keep your raincoat close!
And for Tuesday, well, keep your eyes to the skies: more rain, clouds, and a cozy chance of afternoon thunderstorms will add some excitement to your plans. The winds will finally take a break, but they’re not going quietly!
