Fiji Weather Bulletin: Strong Wind Warning for Macuata, Taveuni, Lau and Lomaiviti; Heavy Rain Warning for Northern and Eastern Fiji; Rotuma Under Heavy Rain and Strong Winds

Weather Alert

Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi at 8:11 PM on Monday, November 24, 2025

Attention, everyone! It seems like Mother Nature has found her coffee and is cranking out some strong winds and heavy rain for our lovely islands. Hold onto your hats (or wigs, if that’s your style) because a STRONG WIND WARNING is still in effect for Macuata, Northern Bua, Cikobia and their petite island friends, Taveuni, and the lovely Lau and Lomaiviti groups.

Meanwhile, those in the northern and eastern parts of Fiji should be ready for some serious downpours with a HEAVY RAIN WARNING still in play. But don’t worry, the skies might just lighten up for the rest of us!

Here’s what the weather has in store for us until tomorrow midnight:

– Strong and sassy northwesterly winds could reach up to 45 km/h with gusts that like to show off at about 55 km/h in the area surrounding Macuata, Bua, Cikobia, Taveuni, and, of course, Lau and Lomaiviti groups. You might want to replace “top knot” with “contraption” to keep your hairstyle intact!
– Expect moderate to rough seas, so if your plans involve sea travel, heed this warning before you unleash your “Captain” status.
– Showers and thunderstorms are rolling in like they own the place over Vanua Levu, Taveuni, and the surrounding smaller islands, ensuring that the weather stays lively.
– Occasional showers are bringing a romantic vibe to the Navua-Suva-Nausori-Korovou regions. You might just get caught in a sudden shower while planning your next epic selfie.
– Parts of the country will be flirting with partly cloudy skies and brief afternoon/evening sprinkles—because what’s a day without a little drama, right?

Now, looking ahead to Wednesday: Expect those cheeky occasional showers to keep playing around. Thunderstorms may join the party to spice things up a little, and keep those umbrellas handy!
