Hold onto your hats, folks, because the weather is about to put on a strong show! A wind warning is firmly in place for the coastal areas of the eastern regions of Kadavu and those little islands that tried to keep a low profile, as well as the eastern half of Viti Levu – from the energetic shores of Sigatoka all the way up to Rakiraki. Taveuni and its smaller buddies, the eastern half of Vanua Levu, the Yasawa Group, Lau, and Lomaiviti are all getting in on this windy party too!
We have a trough of low pressure poised to sprinkle some excitement east of Fiji, so get ready for a splash of clouds and rain heading your way over the next few days. In the meantime, it’s an easterly wind fiesta sweeping across the country, although we promise not to hold any dance contests. Expect those winds to reach up to a cheeky 45 km/h in our lovely eastern spots, easing up slightly tomorrow.
Now, let’s not sugarcoat it – it’s going to be a rainy affair! There will be occasional showers with some thunderstorm drama especially in the interior and eastern parts of Macuata, Southern Bua, and Cakaudrove, as well as right around Taveuni and its pals. Rain will ease into a sophisticated shower vibe starting tomorrow, but keep those umbrellas at the ready, they might just be our best friends for a while!
In the forecast for Thursday, expect some serious cloud cover and more showers, complete with isolated heavy falls and a few thunderstorms star appearances over the interior and eastern pockets of Viti Levu. It sounds a little like nature’s way of saying “don’t forget to hydrate, folks!”
