Weather Update
Brought to you by the National Weather Forecasting Centre, Nadi on this fine Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
Attention all windswept islanders! The blustery drama that has been unfolding over the eastern parts of Kadavu and its smaller neighbors has taken a dramatic turn—our strong wind warning has now been canceled, leaving behind just the memory of your hair-raising adventures!
Now, what’s the lowdown on the weather? A slow-moving trough of low pressure is hanging out over eastern Fiji like a friend who overstayed their welcome. Meanwhile, another one is approaching from the west, bringing its cloud-filled suitcase ready to rain on our parade until Friday—so get your umbrellas ready!
So, what can you expect before midnight tomorrow? Buckle up for a ride of occasional rain, stuffed with isolated thunderstorms and heavy downpours in the eastern and interior regions, including places like Taveuni and parts of Viti Levu. Do expect the rain to ease into mere showers tomorrow—after all, nobody wants to get too soaked too quickly!
But wait, there’s more! Elsewhere, you’ll find the skies are partly cloudy, with a chance of those pesky afternoon showers or evening thunderstorms sneaking up on you. Keep your eyes peeled for some localized heavy falls—those might just decide to turn low-lying areas into temporary swimming pools!
Let’s take a peek at your regional forecasts, shall we?
For Navua, Suva, and Nausori: Prepare for occasional rain along with some stubborn thunderstorms, but no worries as the rain will take a chill pill tomorrow. It’ll be a cozy 22 to 28 degrees.
Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba folks: Expect a partly cloudy sky with those wanting afternoon entertainment in the form of showers and thunderstorms tomorrow. Stay cool with a comfy maximum of 31 degrees.
Sigatoka and the Coral Coast will treat you similarly, keeping it partly cloudy with light rain spots in the afternoons, all while hovering around a warm 30 degrees.
Over at Tavua and Rakiraki: Brace yourselves for occasional rain – and yes, thunderstorms join the party too! Rain should ease to friendly showers by tomorrow, with temperatures hitting a delightful 31 degrees.
As we move to Yasawa/Mamanuca: The forecast promises partly cloudy skies and periodic showers. Dress accordingly because you might end up soaked! Expect similar hospitality in the Labasa region as well.
Savusavu will bring occasional rain with its thunderstorm entourage, but fear not! They will calm down by tomorrow to allow for lighter showers!
In the serene islands of Lau and Lomaiviti, prepare for rain and an occasional thunderstorm to surprise you but, guess what? More showers will follow tomorrow, so keep that umbrella handy.
And finally, for those in Rotuma: Your easterly winds are feeling fine with just brief showers popping up for a sunny 30 degrees!
That’s your weather scoop for the next couple of days! Now, go out and enjoy—just don’t forget that umbrella, or you might find yourself auditioning for a wet and wild reality show!
