Greetings, fellow weather warriors! Brace yourselves because Mother Nature is cranking up the wind machine across Fiji!

There’s a strong wind warning for our coastal friends in Ra-Rakiraki, Southern Bua, Eastern Macuata, Yasawa, the Lau and Lomaiviti groups, plus Taveuni, Kadavu, and their petite sidekicks of islands. It seems a southeast wind flow has decided it wants to be in charge today—hold onto your hats!

For our grand tour of this windy wonderland, expect southeast winds blowing at a breezy 45km/hr, adding some flair to Ra-Rakiraki, Southern Bua, and several other determined islands. Elsewhere, it’s all about those moderate to fresh winds, making a gusty guest appearance now and then, like an impromptu scarf dance at your favorite café.

Over in Suva, Nausori, and the surrounding areas, prepare for some cloudy intrigue and brief showers making cameo appearances. The nighttime’s offering promises to cool the brushes with the day’s warm plots. On the other hand, our destinations like Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba have rolled out the red carpet for fine weather with nighttime temperatures suitable for comfy pajamas and hot cocoa.

Heading to Sigatoka and the Coral Coast? Fire up those barbeques because fine weather is scheduled, although the odd shower might gatecrash your late afternoon plans. Over in Tavua and Rakiraki, the winds will continue their starring role with beams of sunshine stealing the show during the day.

As we wave goodbye to this weather chapter and turn the page to Sunday, the winds crank up their encore performance with more robust numbers in store across many of our familiar coastal zones. There might be a few heavier showers thrown in to keep everyone on their toes, so carry an umbrella if you’re prone to spontaneous jet-skiing—on land, of course.

Let’s give a hearty farewell to Rotuma, where winds are flexing their muscles at 45km/hr, and the seas are having a rough and tumble moment. But fear not, the skies are mainly fine, embodying the phrase, ‘steady as she goes.’

That’s it from the weather desk, folks. Remember—it’s all fun and games until someone loses a hat! Stay safe and catch you on the sunny side.
