Situation: An east to southeast wind flow prevails over the group. Meanwhile, a weak trough of low pressure affects the group from the northeast. For a little extra drama, the heavens may open up unexpectedly—so keep your umbrella handy and your sense of humor handy too.
Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:
– Occasional showers and possible isolated thunderstorms over Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands.
– Cloudy periods with some showers over Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra-Rakiraki, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Yasawa, Lau and Lomaiviti groups. Occasional showers tomorrow.
– Isolated thunderstorms with heavy falls likely. Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying and flood prone areas.
– Elsewhere, fine apart from isolated brief afternoon showers.
