Grab your umbrellas and maybe a life raft because it’s raining cats and dogs across the Fiji group! Yup, a HEAVY RAIN WARNING is still in full swing, and your favorite rain dance has some serious competition.
What’s brewing? An active trough of low pressure has decided to throw a rain party, and it’s gatecrashing most parts of Fiji!
Here’s what to expect until midnight tomorrow:
– Moderate to fresh north to northeast winds – perfect for flying kites but not quite for your hairdo!
– Keep your hats on tight, because those winds will be doing some heavy lifting later tonight, turning into strong northwest gusts up to 55 km/hr! And yes, you might feel like a flying superhero if you step outside in the Yasawa and Mamanuca groups, where gusts can get pushy up to 85 km/hr!
– Moderate to rough seas could make your upcoming boat trip slightly more adventurous – think of it as a natural rollercoaster!
– Rain is forecasting occasional appearances along with a few dramatic thunderstorms – the kind that make you want to curl up with a good book, or at least a great movie. Beware of localised heavy falls that could turn gentle streams into rushing rivers in the blink of an eye.
But don’t worry; it’s expected to ease up tomorrow. And as for Friday, the forecast predicts brief showers in the southern and interior parts of the larger islands, perfect for a little afternoon refreshment.
Let’s break down the local forecasts.
For Navua / Suva / Nausori:
Expect intermittent rain and the occasional sassy thunderstorm. But don’t fret! Things should calm down tomorrow

Nadi / Lautoka / Ba:

– And Friday: A relief with fine weather except for isolated afternoon showers. Min: 22, Max: 28.
For the Yasawa/Mamanuca group:
Heavy winds and rain would like to say a proper hello.
– Tomorrow: Min: 24, Max: 29.
– Friday’s outlook: A fine day with some cheeky showers. Min: 22, Max: 29.
And the list goes on across the lovely islands, with Labasa, Savusavu, Nabouwalu, and the Taveuni group all enjoying their fair share of rain and winds, but don’t worry; the sun will shine through soon!
Finally, for Rotuma:
It’s all about the strong winds and occasional downpours, just enough to keep things interesting!
– Tomorrow: Min: 24, Max: 28.
– And the boom continues on Friday with more rain and possible thunder.
So, you might want to put on your rubber boots and keep an eye on the weather if you’re headed outside – Mother Nature is having a moment, and we’re just living in it!
