Weather Fun Report

Good evening, weather warriors! Buckle up because the forecast is looking like a rollercoaster ride through the clouds!

As we kick off our weather adventure, a Heavy Rain Alert is hanging out over the Western Division and Kadavu, like that one friend who’s always too keen to crash your party. Check out the Special Weather Bulletin if you’re curious about potential puddles: https://www.met.gov.fj/alerts.

But wait, there’s more! We also have a Strong Wind Alert whooshing through the land areas of the Western Division. If you’ve got any hats you cherish, you might want to hold onto those tightly!

Now, let’s talk about this moisture-loving trough of low pressure! It’s just sitting over Fiji, chilling like it’s on vacation, while a lovely moist breeze from the north to northeast is blowing in. So, expect to see occasional showers making their debut, and don’t be surprised if you hear a few thunderous applause from the skies!

For the rest of the islands—look out for pop-up thunderstorms that might crash your sunshine plans! You might even notice some local heavy falls that could lead to a little flash flooding in low-lying areas; so keep your boat shoes handy if you’re heading out.

As we sail into Saturday’s forecast, the Western Division will see occasional rain, with heavy downpours raring to go, and thunderstorms joining the fun. Those winds? They’ll be moderate to strong, whispering sweet nothings at around 40 km/hr and gusts dancing up to 60 km/hr. Seas? Let’s just say they’ll be putting on a rough performance!

Let’s break it down for the towns:
In Navua/Suva/Nausori, expect showers to come and go—like your ancient relatives at family gatherings. Tomorrow’s temps: a cozy Min of 25°C and a Max of 30°C.

For Natadradave/Korovou, the story’s quite similar. Expect some rain drama!

Sigatoka/Coral Coast will see some renegade thunderstorms—careful not to get wet!

In Nadi/Lautoka/Ba, it’s the same soggy saga with showers and that pesky thunder.

If you’re in Tavua/Rakiraki, Yasawa/Mamanuca group, or Labasa, you guessed it—occasional showers and surprises galore; stay dry and keep that umbrella handy!

Savusavu and Nabouwalu are no different, while Taveuni will join the party with afternoon showers and that not-so-distant thunder.

Lau and Lomaiviti are also not immune, with similar weather following suit.

Lastly, let’s not forget Rotuma, where those pesky showers continue their reign. As we look ahead to Saturday, all eyes will be on isolated thunderstorms and plenty of moisture.

Stay prepared, stay dry, and most importantly—keep smiling through the raindrops!
