Hold onto your hats, folks! A STRONG WIND WARNING is blowing through the Lau Group like an overzealous fan at a concert. And if you’re in the eastern half of Viti Levu—namely, Serua-Namosi to Suva and Tailevu—the weather is like that one friend who never knows when to stop; a HEAVY RAIN ALERT is still in effect.

What’s going on, you ask? Well, a cheeky little low-pressure system is making its way south towards Fiji, bringing with it a moist northwesterly wind that thinks it’s a storm chaser! Expect an energetic mix of heavy rain and thunderstorms to settle in like a houseguest who won’t leave. Meanwhile, another low-pressure trough is camped out, bringing clouds and rain that are as persistent as a telemarketer.

Forecast until midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:
Prepare for occasional rain with some isolated heavy showers—because why not? Thunderstorms may select their favorites to join the party over Serua-Namosi, Navua, Suva, Tailevu, and Naitasiri. So, if you thought your weekend plans were solid, you might want to consider bringing an umbrella—just in case! Elsewhere, you can also expect cloudiness with a chance of showers that love to crash the afternoon or evening scene and possibly cause flash floods in low-lying areas.

Our fun-loving winds are expected to whip around the Lau group with speeds of up to 45 km/h, like they’re just too excited about the rain. They should settle down starting tomorrow. And if you’re near the sea, expect moderate to rough waves to keep the surf enthusiasts entertained.

Now, looking ahead to Monday: the forecast shuffles its feet in anticipation, promising occasional rain and sporadic thunderstorms as if it’s a talented juggler trying to keep everything in the air.
