Fiji Weather Bulletin: Heavy Rain Alert Cancelled as Trough Moves East; Showers and Thunderstorms Expected with Cooler Nights

THE HEAVY RAIN ALERT PREVIOUSLY IN FORCE FOR THE FIJI GROUP IS NOW CANCELLED.

Situation: A trough of low pressure lies over Fiji and is gradually moving eastwards. Associated active rain bands lie just to the east of the group and are expected to continue moving eastwards away from Fiji. If you were planning to wash your car, you might want to postpone until the forecast smiles on you again.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group:
– Cloudy periods with some showers and isolated thunderstorms over most places.
– Moderate northerly winds, gradually turning southwest from the West by midday.
– Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for Friday: Cloudy periods with few showers over Sigatoka-Korolevu, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti groups. Mainly fine elsewhere. Cool at night.

– Outlook for Friday: Cloudy periods with few showers. Min 22, Max 28.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba:
