A HEAVY RAIN ALERT REMAINS IN FORCE FOR THE WHOLE FIJI GROUP. For more information, refer to the Special Weather Bulletin issued by the National Weather Forecasting Center at https://www.met.gov.fj/alerts/

Situation: A moist east to northeast wind flow is buckling across the Fiji group. A trough of low pressure is expected to swing in from the west, bringing cloud, rain and showers from later tomorrow through to later Wednesday. In short: bring the umbrella, and maybe a snorkel.

Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:
– Cloudy periods with some showers over Eastern Macuata and Cakaudrove, Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra-Rakiraki, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti groups. Isolated heavy falls possible.
– Localised heavy falls may lead to flash-flooding of low-lying areas.
– Elsewhere, fine apart from possible isolated afternoon or evening showers.
– Rain and thunderstorms developing from the west from later tomorrow and gradually spreading to the rest of the group.
– Moderate to fresh east to northeast winds.
– Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for Wednesday: Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over most places. Localised heavy falls may lead to flash-flooding of low-lying areas. Moderate to fresh north to northwest winds, gusty at times. Moderate to rough seas.

For Navua / Suva / Nausori:
Cloudy periods with some showers. Rain and thunderstorms developing from later tomorrow.
Min: 23, Max: 29.
Outlook for Wednesday: Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms. Min: 24, Max: 27.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba:
Fine apart from possible isolated afternoon or evening showers. Rain and thunderstorms developing from later tomorrow.
Min: 21, Max: 31.
Outlook for Wednesday: Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms. Min: 23, Max: 27.

For Sigatoka/Coral Coast:
Fine apart from possible isolated afternoon or evening showers. Rain and thunderstorms developing from later tomorrow.
Min: 22, Max: 31.
Outlook for Wednesday: Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms. Min: 23, Max: 27.

For Tavua/Rakiraki:
Cloudy periods with some showers over Rakiraki. Fine apart from possible isolated afternoon or evening showers elsewhere. Rain and thunderstorms developing from later tomorrow.

Outlook for Wednesday: Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms. Min: 23, Max: 27.

For Natadradave/Korovou:
Cloudy periods with some showers. Rain and thunderstorms developing from later tomorrow.

Outlook for Wednesday: Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms. Min: 24, Max: 27.

For Yasawa/Mamanuca group:
Fine apart from possible isolated afternoon or evening showers. Rain and thunderstorms developing from later tomorrow.

For Labasa:
Cloudy periods with some showers. Rain and thunderstorms developing from later tomorrow.

For Kadavu:
Cloudy periods with some showers. Rain and thunderstorms developing from later tomorrow.

For Rotuma:
A strong wind warning remains in force for Rotuma waters and is now cancelled for land areas.
Situation: A moist easterly wind flow prevails over the group. A weak trough of low pressure is expected to affect the island from later today.
Over waters: Easterly winds 20 to 25 knots. Winds turning and becoming northeasterly and easing to 15 to 20 knots from tomorrow.
Over land: Moderate to fresh easterly winds.
Rough seas. Seas becoming moderate to rough from tomorrow.
Cloudy periods with some showers.
Min: 25, Max: 30.
Outlook for Wednesday: Occasional showers, heavy at times and few thunderstorms. Min: 25, Max: 30.
