Fiji Weather Bulletin: Cloudy with Showers and Thunderstorms, Isolated Heavy Falls and Flood Risk Across Fiji – Tuesday Outlook

Weather Update: October 27, 2025

Good morning, Fiji! As you wake up this fine Monday, your friendly neighborhood forecasters have determined that a moist northeasterly wind flow is paying us a visit, bringing with it a few cloud buddies and some showers who are eager to crash the party. Just to keep things interesting, there’s a rather slow-moving trough of low pressure hanging out to our northwest, possibly contemplating some deep philosophical thoughts on the nature of weather patterns.

Now, let’s dive into the forecast for the Fiji group until the clock strikes midnight tonight. Expect some rather cloudy periods with the potential for showers that might just decide to become heavy in the afternoon. Thunderstorms could also join the mix, especially in the interior and eastern parts of Macuata, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and a few nearby smaller islands. You may want to keep your umbrella handy if you’re in Viti Levu’s eastern parts, from Suva to Tailevu North and Rakiraki to Ba. The Yasawa, Lau, and Lomaiviti groups should also prepare for a moderate splash or two.

Elsewhere across our beautiful islands, it’ll also be cloudy with the occasional shower thrown in for good measure. The winds will be moderate and coming from the northeast, while the seas might get a bit choppy, so you may want to rethink that early morning paddleboarding adventure.

Looking ahead to tomorrow (Tuesday): our clouds will continue to be the life of the party, bringing more showers and potential heavy falls, along with additional thunderstorm antics in Viti Levu, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and some smaller islands. In areas like Kadavu, Lau, and Lomaiviti, it’s a similar story, while the rest of Fiji will open the door to partly cloudy skies with some afternoon or evening surprises.

Let’s break it down for specific areas:

– **Navua / Suva / Nausori**: Expect clouds and some showers, maybe even heavy falls and thunder in the afternoon. Temp: Min 22, Max 29.

– **Nadi / Lautoka / Ba**: Your forecast is looking mostly cloudy with potential heavy afternoon rainfall and thunder – keep those raincoats handy! Temp: Min 22, Max 32.

– **Sigatoka / Coral Coast**: It’s mostly partly cloudy with a chance of some cheeky showers later. Temp: Min 21, Max 29.

– **Tavua / Rakiraki**: Cloudy with some showers, and who knows, maybe a thunderclap or two. Temp: Min 21, Max 31.

– **Yasawa / Mamanuca**: Cloudy with an opportunity for showers and thunderstorms. Overall, a great day to escape to the beach if the weather allows. Temp: Min 22, Max 31.

– **Labasa**: Partly cloudy with a chance of afternoon showers and thunder. Better keep those rain boots nearby. Temp: Min 23, Max 31.

– **Savusavu**: Cloudy, showers expected, along with possible heavy afternoon thunderstorms. Temp: Min 24, Max 29.

– **Rotuma**: Enjoy fine weather with a few brief showers, while the easterly winds make it feel fresh. Temp: Min 25, Max 31.

So there you have it, folks! It looks like we’re in for a blend of clouds, showers, and a sprinkle of thunder as the week kicks off. Stay safe, stay dry, and maybe avoid any picnic plans unless you like an unexpected shower as part of your outdoor dining experience!
