Greetings to all you sunbathers and umbrella hoarders! Looks like we’ve got a delightful blend of moisture rolling in from the northeast, combined with a lazy trough of low pressure hanging out just northwest of Fiji, like that friend who overstays their welcome at a party.
Here’s what to expect until midnight tomorrow across our beautiful islands:
Prepare for cloudy skies and some showers. But wait, there’s more! Isolated heavy rain showers may join the party in the afternoon, particularly over the lovely interior of Macuata, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, and the scenic eastern parts of Taveuni and their tiny companions. You can expect similar weather in the interior and eastern reaches of Viti Levu (yes, from Suva to Rakiraki, and even the bustling towns in between), as well as in Yasawa, Lau, and the Lomaiviti groups.
For those checking elsewhere, it looks like cloudy periods with a sprinkle of afternoon or evening showers may make an appearance, possibly leading to a few dramatic thunderstorms – how exciting!
Winds will be moderately breezy (let’s not confuse that with a hair-raising tornado!), and seas will have a moderate demeanor as well.
Now, casting our weather goggles forward to Tuesday: Expect a repeat performance with cloudy patches and showers, ramping up the excitement with isolated heavy rains and thunderstorms over the same prime locations as before. Keep an eye out: those heavy downpours could lead to some mischievous flash flooding in low-lying areas.
