Weather Update
Greetings, Fijians! It’s your friendly weather oracle here to enlighten you on what Mother Nature has in store. On this fine Friday, February 20, 2026, we’re gearing up for a variety of weather shenanigans across the Fiji group.
Get ready for those lovely clouds to roll in—a few showers will be lurking about, especially over our friends in Kadavu, Lau, and the Lomaiviti groups. Don’t worry, though; they promise to be isolated little showers with some possible thunderstorms trying to crash the party.
The Coral Coast, including Korolevu, Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, and Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, among others, can expect cloudy periods followed by some brief showers. The rest of us will appreciate some fine weather, but be wary—those sneaky afternoon or evening showers might just surprise you. Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, hang tight; isolated thunderstorms with heavy rain could make things a little dramatic later in the day.
The winds are shaking things up with a moderate south to southeast breeze, and the seas are sporting a moderate look as well. Just enough to keep your surfboards happy!
Now, let’s peek into Sunday’s crystal ball: more of the same with cloudy periods and brief showers across Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, and the lovely Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and their nearby buddies. Expect more fine weather elsewhere, but hold onto your hats—the afternoon and evening thunderstorms are still scheduled to make an appearance, especially over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu.
Specifically speaking for Navua/Suva/Nausori: expect cloudy periods with some brief showers, and don’t forget that afternoon rumble in the sky that might come along with a side of heavy rain.
Temperature-wise, we’re looking at a minimum of 25°C and a maximum of 32°C, so perhaps skip the heavy wool sweater.
Here’s the scoop for different areas:
– Natadradave/Korovou: Cloudy with a chance of some brief showers. Meet your thunderstorm friends in the afternoon or evening.
– Sigatoka/Coral Coast: You’ll be mostly fine, with just a sprinkle of showers to keep things interesting.
– Nadi/Lautoka/Ba: Same as above—stay cool and collected; just a few surprises in the form of showers and maybe a thunder clap.
– Tavua/Rakiraki, Yasawa/Mamanuca group: All clear for lovely weather, but keep an umbrella handy just in case!
– Labasa: Mostly fine, but those thunderstorms are preparing their entrance for the afternoon.
– Savusavu, Nabouwalu, and Taveuni: Expect some cloud cover with brief showers, while also greeting those late-afternoon thunderstorms.
– And over in the Lau and Lomaiviti group and Kadavu: Cloudy with possible showers and the usual thunderstorm antics!
Last but not least, our friends in Rotuma are enjoying moderate easterly winds and a sprinkle of brief showers.
So, as you venture out, remember to pack a smile, an umbrella, and perhaps a towel—because Fiji weather is as delightfully unpredictable as a game of cards with your aunties! Stay safe and enjoy the beautiful adventures, rain or shine!
