Weather Update from the Chuckling Clouds at the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi:
Issued at 7:30 pm on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

Here’s what’s breezing through Fiji’s skyways: A weak trough of low pressure is doing its best impression of leisure travel northwest of Viti Levu. Its accompanying cloud and rain are making guest appearances across parts of the group till tomorrow. Meanwhile, the ever-classic south to southeasterly winds ensure they remain the divas of the island breeze.

For the Fiji group: Expect your usual cloudy intermissions paired with brief sprinkles courtesy of nature’s sprinklers over the eastern and interior stages of Viti Levu [Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra/Rakiraki], Kadavu, and other backup dancers on nearby smaller islands. Similar features are on show in the eastern interiors of Vanua Levu [Southern Bua, Cakaudrove [including Taveuni and the small but proud isles nearby], and don’t forget the Lau and Lomaiviti groups.

Elsewhere, clear skies will prevail with only the occasional isolated shower doing a cameo. Expect moderate winds delivering subtle hints of south to southeasterly vibes with seas as smooth as a coconut oil commercial.

Outlook for Monday: More performances of cloudy weather with some showers, hitting the stage in the interior and southern parts of Viti Levu [Sigatoka-Korolevu, Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori] alongside Kadavu and neighboring islands. Vanua Levu’s interior and eastern parts [Southern Bua and Cakaudrove, along with enthusiastic Taveuni and its fellow mini-islands] join in, with Lau and Lomaiviti clapping along. The rest of the Fiji crew will enjoy mostly sunny reprieves with the occasional brief afternoon or evening sprinkling. Winds might pick up to a jazzy moderate to fresh southeast strum, while seas promise the moderately rough dance floor we’ve all grown to expect.
