A heavy rain alert remains in force for the whole Fiji group. For more information, refer to the Special Weather Bulletin at met.gov.fj/alerts.

Situation:
A moist east to northeast wind flow is covering the Fiji group. A trough of low pressure is expected to approach from the west, bringing cloud, rain and showers from later today through to late Wednesday.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group:
– Cloudy periods with some showers over Eastern Macuata and Cakaudrove, Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra-Rakiraki, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti groups. Isolated heavy falls are possible.
– Localised heavy falls may lead to flash-flooding of low-lying areas.
– Elsewhere, fine apart from possible isolated afternoon or evening showers.
– Rain and thunderstorms developing from the west from later today and gradually spreading to the rest of the group.
– Winds: Moderate to fresh east to northeast.
– Seas: Moderate to rough.

Outlook for Wednesday:
– Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over most places.
– Localised heavy falls may lead to flash-flooding of low-lying areas.
– Winds: Moderate to fresh north to northwest, gusty at times.
– Seas: Moderate to rough.

– A strong wind warning remains in force for Rotuma waters and is now cancelled for land areas.
– Situation: A moist easterly wind flow prevails. A weak trough of low pressure is expected to affect the island from later today.
– Over waters: Easterly winds 20 to 25 knots, turning northeasterly and easing to 15 to 20 knots from tomorrow.
– Over land: Moderate to fresh easterly winds. Rough seas, becoming moderate to rough from tomorrow.
– Cloudy periods with some showers.
– Min 25, Max 30
– Outlook Wednesday: Occasional showers, heavy at times and few thunderstorms. Min 25, Max 30
