Weather Update

Good morning, sunshine lovers! It’s February 27, 2026, and if you were hoping for a dry day in paradise, I hate to break it to you, but it looks like we’ll be pulling out the umbrellas again!

We have a heavy rain alert that’s still clinging to the Western Division and Kadavu like an overly affectionate puppy. And just like that puppy, we can’t shake it off. So if you spot clouds gathering in a huddle, be prepared for some rain showers joining the party, possibly with a side of thunderstorms that may want to give their two cents.

Here’s the scoop for the rest of the day: Expect those occasional showers to frolic about with some isolated heavy falls in the Western Division and Eastern parts. We’re talking Navua, Suva, Nausori, and their friendly neighbors. You might even see a thunderstorm or two trying to steal the show!

The beaches and islands won’t get a hall pass either! Taveuni, Lau, Kadavu, Yasawa, and Mamanuca groups should also prepare for a little rain tango, sprinkled with a dash of thunder. Meanwhile, the rest of the group can expect partly cloudy skies with occasional explosive afternoon or evening showers. It’s basically a wet and wild affair!

Now, don’t forget that localised heavy falls could lead to some flash flooding in low-lying areas, so keep an eye out for that. And if you fancy going for a swim in the sea, brace yourself for some moderate to rough waves – might be a bit too exciting for those with a fear of sea monsters!

Looking ahead to Saturday, things aren’t looking much drier. The Western Division will continue to get cozy with some wet weather. We’re talking occasional to persistent rain, with some thunderstorms to liven things up. Windy conditions could push things to 40 km/h, with gusts sneakily reaching up to 60 km/h. Hold tight to your hats, folks!

Now, here are the details for various locations, in case you want to know what Mother Nature has in store for you:

– **Navua/Suva/Nausori:** Occasional showers and, yes, illicit thunderstorms. Min: 25, Max: 30. Tomorrow promises more of the same.
– **Sigatoka/Coral Coast:** You guessed it, occasional showers with lingering thunderstorms. Min: 25, Max: 30 with a chance of rain antics tomorrow.
– **Nadi/Lautoka/Ba:** Same drill as above, with a possibility of isolated heavy falls. Min: 25, Max: 30. Expect the rain to play hard to get tomorrow too!
– **Yasawa/Mamanuca:** Rainy feelings will be in full bloom, expect the same temperature treats as before.
– **Labasa/Savusavu:** Keep those umbrellas handy for these wet-and-wonderful spots. Again, Min: 25, Max: 30 will be your figures.
– **Taveuni:** Partly cloudy with further antics from afternoon or evening showers. But the temperature still wants to play nice, holding steady.

So there you have it! Rain or shine – okay, mostly rain – make sure to stay dry, safe, and keep the fun alive while navigating these wet spells!
