Weather Update

Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi

Oh, grab your umbrellas and don’t forget your raincoats because the Fiji group is looking a bit soggy today! A HEAVY RAIN ALERT is in full swing, meaning you might want to paddle your way to the nearest coffee shop to wait it out.

In case you’re planning a day out, a FLASH FLOOD ALERT is also sprinkled across our beautiful islands, so unless you’re a mermaid or a fish, it’s best to stay away from those low-lying spots. And for those living in areas prone to flooding, particularly around Nakauvandra River, Naseani at Yaqara River, and the Tavua Town bridge—well, let’s just say, it’s an ideal day for building an ark!

The weather’s being rather dramatic today as a trough of low pressure has decided to hover like an unwanted guest to our southwest, obligingly bringing clouds and rain to almost everyone in the group.

Throughout the day, expect occasional rain and a few thunderstorms throwing a tantrum here and there, with some places experiencing heavy downpours. But fret not! The rain should start to ease up as the sun contemplates making a comeback later on.

Stay tuned for more craziness, but here’s a glimpse into the forecast chaos for the various regions:

– **Navua / Suva / Nausori**: Your sky is pondering some rain and possibly introducing a few thunderous comments, with a high of 30°C.
– **Natadradave/Korovou**: Prepare for more rain with a dramatic flair—heavy falls could sweep through before it eases up. High of 29°C today.
– **Sigatoka/Coral Coast**: Rainy moments but things might clear up later! Highs of 30°C, so keep your spirits high!
