Alright, folks, hold onto your umbrellas because a HEAVY RAIN WARNING is currently in effect for the entire Fiji Group! If you thought last week was wet, get ready for an encore performance.

But wait, there’s more! We also have a FLASH FLOOD WARNING dancing through the air, so take care in those low-lying areas. For more details, make sure to check out: https://www.met.gov.fj/alerts/.

And if you’re planning a seaside adventure, be advised: a STRONG WIND WARNING is blowing in for our coastal buddies in Yasawa and Mamanuca, as well as the Nadi-Lautoka-Ba-Tavua-Rakiraki regions, among others. It seems like Mother Nature is sending out a reminder to hold onto your hats – because it’s going to be a blustery ride!

What’s going on? An active trough of low pressure with plenty of clouds and rain is making itself comfortable over Fiji, while a shallow low pressure system is nestled just southwest of Viti Levu, directing moist winds across most of the group. This powerful duo is cooking up a storm – quite literally, with heavy rain, squally thunderstorms, and strong winds expected to stay until the weekend.

Forecast for Tonight:
Prepare for some energetic northwest winds zooming in at 35 to 45 km/hr with gusts sneaking up to 60 km/hr across our coastal areas. Expect rough seas and occasional rain that might turn heavy, followed by a few wild thunderstorms. It’s going to rain in places like Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba, so maybe save the canoeing for another day!

The outlook for Friday looks to be more of the same with occasional heavy rain and thunderstorm excitement over lovely locations such as Ba, Ra, Taveuni, and the Yasawa group. Don’t worry; it’s okay to dance in the rain, just be mindful of those flash floods that might want to join the party!
