Weather Update from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi at 5:30 am on this fine Tuesday 16th of December 2025 – or as we like to call it, the day the rain decided to bring its friends!

Hold on to your umbrellas, folks, because a HEAVY RAIN WARNING is still in effect for the entire Fiji Group. Yes, it’s not just rain; it’s like Mother Nature decided to host a wet and wild karaoke party across the islands.

Also, we have a FLASH FLOOD WARNING as our beloved rain continues to overstay its welcome. A shallow low-pressure system is wandering over the southern parts of the group and has invited all its friends (heavy rain and thunderstorms) along for the ride. Meanwhile, Tropical Depression 03F, who is enjoying the view from the far northwest near Vanuatu, is also taking its sweet time.

Now, let’s dive into today’s forecast for the Fiji group: expect some serious rain action – think of it as nature’s way of ensuring everyone stays hydrated. We’re talking occasional heavy showers and a few electrifying thunderstorms to spice things up. Be prepared for water-loving friends to crash your afternoon barbeque as persistent heavy falls may lead to flash floods in low-lying areas. Grab those life jackets if you’re near a river!

Sailing enthusiasts, brace yourselves for moderate to rough seas that might just challenge you to an unexpected splash contest!

Looking ahead to Wednesday: more of the same! Rain and thunderstorms will make appearances across most areas, with strong, gusty winds joining the party.

For our beloved regions:
– Navua / Suva / Nausori: Rain, rain, and more rain. Max: 28°C. Tomorrow’s min: 22°C.
– Natadradave/Korovou: Just in case you missed it – rain. 28°C today too.
– Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Yes, you guessed it. Rain will continue. Max: 28°C.
– Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: Rainy symphony is on! Min: 23°C, Max: 28°C.
– And don’t worry, every other area, including Tavua, Yasawa, Labasa, Nabouwalu, and even the lovely islands like Taveuni, Kadavu, and Rotuma, are equally blessed with rain showers and spectacular thunderclaps!

So, stay cozy and maybe do an indoor activity today. Or, if you’re brave, don your best raincoat and go dance in the downpour! Just remember to keep your snacks safe and dry!
