Fiji Weather Alert: Heavy Rain and Flash Flood Warnings in Effect Across Fiji Group and Rotuma (26 November 2025)

Weather Update

Hey there, fellow weather watchers! Grab your umbrellas and maybe even a pair of inflatable rafts because it seems Fiji is in for quite the splash. As of now, the National Weather Forecasting Centre has issued a HEAVY RAIN WARNING for the whole of Fiji. That’s right, it’s raining cats, dogs, and possibly a few farm animals out there!

So, if you live in low-lying or flood-prone areas, keep an eye out for potential flash flooding – we wouldn’t want you getting swept away on a surprise canoe ride!

What’s causing this aquatic extravaganza? An active trough of low pressure is lazily hanging over Fiji, sending down showers of rain that won’t take a break until at least tomorrow.

As for what to expect tonight? Let’s just say there will be occasional heavy rain and the odd clap of thunder here and there. So if you’ve had your fill of water sports lately, you might want to cozy up at home instead. And as for those moderate to fresh winds? Just enough to mess up your hair without the use of a hairdryer!

Looking ahead to Friday, we might be in for a bit of a treat with some occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms over Vanua Levu. Other areas will have cloudy spells with showers and possibly a dash of afternoon thunderstorm excitement over Viti Levu. Just think of Friday as “Bring Your Own Raincoat” day!

For the specific locales:

– **Navua / Suva / Nausori**: Heavy rain and thunderstorms are on the agenda. Tomorrow’s forecast looks like it might hit a low of 24 and a high of 28 degrees.

– **Sigatoka/Coral Coast**: Expect similar weather with heavy downpours. After tomorrow, skies may clear up just in time for the weekend with highs reaching 30 degrees.

– **Nadi / Lautoka / Ba**: Grab your wellies! Heavy rain until tomorrow, with temperatures changing from a pleasant 24 to a sweltering 32 on Friday.

– For those in **Tavua/Rakiraki**, **Natadradave/Korovou**, and **Yasawa/Mamanuca group**, it’s more of the same. Just be ready for a bit of soaking but the weekend may bring some sunshine!

– **Labasa and Savusavu**: Expect your daily doses of rain, with a slight chance of thunderstorms. But fear not, it’s Fiji—those warm island vibes aren’t going anywhere!

– For **Taveuni**, **Lau and Lomaiviti group**, and **Kadavu**: Keep your rain gear handy because it seems you’ll be in the thick of it too!

Lastly, for the cherry on top, **Rotuma** is under that heavy rain watch too, but the strong winds are finally giving it a rest.

So there you have it, folks! Stay dry, keep smiling, and remember: there’s no bad weather, just bad clothing choices! So layer up, grab some hot cocoa, and weather this storm with style!
