Weather Update
Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 10:45am on Tuesday, November 4, 2025
Grab your umbrellas and floaties, folks! A HEAVY RAIN ALERT is officially in the house! From the eastern half of Viti Levu (yes, we’re talking about Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Ra… and let’s not forget the Yasawa Group, Northern Division, Lau, Lomaiviti Group, Kadavu, and all those cozy little islands nearby), everyone’s invited to the wet and wild party! And guess what? The rest of the country just got the VIP pass too!
Why the splash? Well, a pesky trough of low pressure has decided to hang around and shake things up with some pretty serious clouds and rain, and it looks like it’s going to keep crashing the party until late tomorrow.
Here’s the forecast until midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:
We’re in for some occasional rain (heavy at times, mind you), with a sprinkle of thunderstorms. But don’t worry; the rain should start easing into mere showers later on. Keep an eye on those low-lying areas – localized heavy falls might just cause some unexpected splash zones! Winds will be playing moderately from the southeast to northeast, and if you’re thinking of a splash in the sea, consider the moderate seas as your cue.
What’s the outlook for Thursday? Well, prepare for some fine sunshine with brief showers trying to sneak in over Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and those smaller islands. Otherwise, expect sunshine bliss with just a hint of afternoon or evening showers elsewhere. And the winds will keep you cool with a moderate to fresh breeze, while the sea decides to be moderate to rough.
