A strong wind warning has been issued for all Fiji Waters this weekend. The Fiji Meteorological Services cautioned that rough seas are anticipated. Sailors and fishermen are urged to take safety precautions and to avoid traversing the choppy waters.

Currently, an east to southeast wind flow is affecting the Fiji group, coupled with a trough of low pressure situated to the south. Today, east to southeast winds are predicted to reach speeds of 20 to 25 knots, leading to rough sea conditions and moderate southerly swells.

Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms are forecasted for several areas, including:
– Serua-Namosi
– Navua-Suva-Nausori-Tailevu
– Naitasiri, Ra-Rakiraki
– Eastern Macuata
– Southern Bua
– Cakaudrove
– Kadavu
– Lau
– Lomaiviti groups

Other regions are likely to experience cloudy conditions with showers and potential isolated thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon or evening. This weather pattern is expected to persist across all divisions and outer islands, with possible isolated thunderstorms also likely on Saturday afternoon and evening.
