The Water Authority of Fiji is warning residents in regions frequently affected by water quality issues at the Tamavua Water Treatment Plant to be ready for possible interruptions to their water supply. This caution comes in light of ongoing heavy rainfall, which is likely to disrupt the water quality in local streams, complicating the treatment and delivery of water.
As a consequence of these anticipated changes, the production capacity at the Tamavua facility may be reduced. Areas predicted to experience water supply disruptions include:
– Mika Drue Place and Pathik Crescent
– Mead Road, including Volavola Road, Evetts Place, and Top Shop Road
– Elevated regions along Lakha Singh Road, specifically Sakoca Road
– Elevated zones along Tacirua Road, including Raibevu Road and Tacirua Heights
– MH Superfresh, Upper Mead Road, and Princes Road from Twomey Hospital to Loa Street Junction
– Princes Road from Joe’s Farm to Sawani Service Station
– Upper Delanivesi Areas as well as the upper regions of Lami Village Road, Kalekana Settlement Road, and Muaivuso Village
The Water Authority’s teams are diligently monitoring the situation and are committed to managing production levels effectively to lessen the potential impact on households.
This proactive approach by the Water Authority is crucial in ensuring community awareness and preparedness during adverse weather conditions. Residents are encouraged to stay informed and stock up on essential supplies to navigate any interruptions in their water service.
