The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) is alerting residents in certain areas about potential interruptions to their water supply due to heavy rainfall affecting the Tamavua Water Treatment Plant. The agency is concerned that the quality of water in the source streams will deteriorate, which will pose challenges in treating and supplying clean water.

Customers living in the following locations may experience disruptions: Mika Drue Place, Pathik Crescent, Mead Road, Volavola Road, Evetts Place, Top Shop Road, elevated regions along Lakha Singh Road and Sakoca Road, as well as Tacirua Road, Raibevu Road, and Tacirua Heights. Other affected areas include MH Superfresh, Upper Mead Road, Princes Road from Twomey Hospital to Loa Street Junction, and portions of Upper Delanivesi and Lami Village Road.

WAF is actively monitoring the situation and is committed to managing production levels to reduce the impact on residents’ water supply.

In summary, while this situation may be inconvenient for residents, WAF’s proactive response and commitment to monitoring the water quality underscore their dedication to ensuring that water supply is restored as quickly as possible. The community can take solace in knowing that measures are in place to handle these challenges efficiently.
